God's Way !
By Mark J. Ward

God's Way is the only way that is right in religious matters today! God's Way is to be learned and obeyed from "rightly dividing the word of truth" (2 Tim 2:15). Too many people in religious matters today do not recognize the essentiality of knowing and following God's Way. What is my approach and what weight do I give to this subject? How much emphasis do you place on knowing God, knowing His Way and following His Way in all activities you engage in (whether spiritual or secular)?

Let us look to a few passages that emphasize the essentiality of knowing and following God's Way in all we do.

Jeremiah 10:23 O LORD, I know that the way of man [is] not in himself: [it is] not in man that walketh to direct his steps. 24 O LORD, correct me, but with judgment; not in thine anger, lest thou bring me to nothing.

Isaiah 55:8 For my thoughts [are] not your thoughts, neither [are] your ways my ways, saith the LORD. 9 For [as] the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. 10 For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: 11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper [in the thing] whereto I sent it.

Psalms 119:105 Thy word [is] a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

Matthew 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

Luke 6:46 And why call ye me , Lord , Lord , and do not the things which I say? 47 Whosoever cometh to me , and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like: 48 He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock. 49 But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.

Acts 5:29 Then Peter and the [other] apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.

James 1:25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth [therein], he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

James 2:12 So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.

By looking at the passages above and giving some meditation as to the teaching to be understood from them, isn't it evident that we are simply not capable of determining what we are to do and say without looking to God's instruction manual, the Bible? Since we are living under the New Testament today, we should read, study and obey His Will as found therein. We are NOT under the old law and cannot use that as our standard (Gal. 5:4; Hebrews 8,9,10). Are you seeking to follow God's Word as found in the New Testament in every aspect of your everyday life? Let us resolve to do more in the future in this regard. God bless us all as we seek to improve spiritually and be more like God would have us be while living here below. - mjw
